ABOUT ME

Natyavidushi Kum.Manisha Manikandan the founder of Shivatmika Nrithyalaya is a trained dancer and choreographer who is mastered the vazhoor style of Bharathanatyam under the able guidance of Natyacharya shri Mithun Shyam
She is also trained in Carnatic vocal under vidwan shri Balasubramanya sharma 
She has travelled across several cities of South India performing at various prestigious dance festivals like the Chidambaram Natyanjali, Mysore and Hampi festival ,Thanjavur ,Allathur Devi Shethram, Guruvayur , Manapulli kavzhu ,Palakkad, to name a few 
She has also been part of various dance productions and dance dramas like Bibi Nachiar”, “Mahishi Mardhanam”, “Shri Rama Anjaneya Vijayam”, “Samhara Thandavam”, “Narasimha”, “Mahishasura Mardhini”, “Onakke Obavva”, “Rasamaya Kurukshetra” Cilapathikaran, and many more and have been recognized for her talent and dedication.

She has also been the editor of international magazine “Nrithyam” which has been a medium of discussion and communication of artistic ideas across the globe for the year 2015 and 2016 

She has choreographed for events  at prestigious colleges like Mount Carmel College, New Horizon College,Chrub angel School , St. John’s high school, and has been the Jury for several inter-collegiate fests and competitions. 

Through her performances she has earned outstanding appreciation and respect

Shivatmika Nrithyalaya is a premier dance institute founded by Manisha Manikandan in the year 2017. Over the past year, the institution has grown and currently trains students Bharathanatyam, Carnatic Vocal and Mridangam. Many of them have also performed for reputed dance festivals like the Chidambaram Natyanjali, Allathur Devi Shethram, Guruvayur , Manapulli kavzhu ,Palakkad etc  and have been recognized for their talent and dedication.

The vision of the institute is to imbibe an interest among the younger generation in the various aspects of Indian art and culture. Through the medium of dance and music, Shivatmika Nrithyalaya imparts knowledge of Indian mythology, history and culture.
Furthermore, the students of the institute are encouraged develop a strong and outgoing personality which improves their overall outlook towards life.

The institute also encourages deprived students from the area and provides them with the necessary skills to enable them to develop career options within the field of fine arts. Students are trained to complete their Secondary Dance and Music Examinations conducted by the Karnataka State Secondary Examination Board so that they are certified by the Govt. Moreover, several opportunities to display their talent are provided by conducting cultural events across the country.
